Self-pause = Self-care

Maria Wood

Self-care means permitting yourself to pause.

Last week I took some time to pause.  I slept in, took deep breaths without feeling pressure in my chest, didn’t watch the news once, went for long rides with my husband, sat in awe of beautiful sunsets on the Grand Tetons, explored new places, and went to Yellowstone to witness the glory of Old Faithful, got to meet a friendly moose, experienced my very first rodeo and soaked in the stunning beauty of Wyoming.

Life can be hectic and draining. This time away reminded me that it doesn’t have to be that way. I can control the pace and take the time to just breathe. My husband always reminds me, “enjoy every day because you never know what tomorrow may bring.”
