Below is an excerpt from a blog Maria wrote and helps to explain the genesis of this very unique empowerment program:

Many people ask me “What is Fearless Focus Program?”

Here is the answer I usually give:  It’s an empowerment program for girls and boys.  Our well-rounded curriculum helps kids and teens build their strength from the inside out.  We want the same things for them that a parent wants:  self-esteem and self-confidence, a strong physical presence, social ease with their peers and adults, body confidence, and to be able to navigate the world successfully.

Now here is a little history about the program:  When I began Fearless Focus in 2000 my objective was the exact same as it is today.  To create a safe place where all kids could feel welcome, happy, and comfortable being themselves. We believe our runway is one of the most successful and transformative tools to build self-confidence. When our students step onto it, they are able to understand and appreciate the power of their presence. Weekly practice on the runway and self-awareness of owning the space they’re in, are two important components of helping our students attain a powerful presence. Practice makes BETTER not perfect. Confidence and self-appreciation takes practice and the diligence to develop a positive mindset for yourself. No one can make you confident. You have to do the work.

The transformation is beautiful!  It’s amazing what happens when you give a child the opportunity to shine brightly by just being themselves.  I will never grow tired of seeing their smiles when they come off the runway.  Or the enthusiastic hugs given to them by family members and the high-fives received from their friends.  It’s such a simple premise but the inner power they feel from it resonates long after.

So from now on, when someone asks me “What is Fearless Focus Program?” I will simply answer…Fearless Focus is a powerful place for beautiful transformations!
