When we empower young people with confidence and resilience, it’s incredible to see how those lessons last a lifetime. Hailey McDonough, a former Fearless Focus student and instructor, shares how her experiences in our program continue to impact her personal and professional life to this day.
My name is Hailey McDonough and I am a former Fearless Focus instructor and student.
As a student of Maria I have benefitted greatly from the guidance and support provided, gaining the tools to navigate life challenges with grace and resilience and for that I am eternally grateful. As an instructor, I had the privilege of witnessing the incredible growth and transformation of so many individuals who walked through our doors. It was truly humbling to see the light in their eyes as they began to recognize their own worth and potential. The Fearless Focus curriculum and approach to empowerment is truly unique and effective, empowering individuals to step into their power and live as their most authentic selves, creating a safe and nurturing space for individuals to explore, grow, and thrive. Maria’s commitment to empowering others is truly inspiring, and I am honored to have been a part of this community. I carry the lessons I have learned from Fearless Focus with me always, and continue to spread the message of self love and empowerment.
My specific testimony to my lessons at Fearless Focus involve continuous improvement in my professional career. I maintain the role of registered behavioral therapist and admin at my other location of employment and in order to obtain and continue to maintain this position I have used so many of the lessons I have learned at Fearless Focus. From tips on interviews and public speaking, to professionalism, speaking up and using my voice, knowing my value, and standing in my power as a woman in the professional world who deserves equality and respect, I have leaned on the values of the Fearless Focus curriculum in order to navigate challenges, expand my skills, maintain my confidence, and most importantly stand tall in instances of fear.
Maria has always told her students that confidence is not about never being afraid, but instead believing in yourself and your abilities, not being afraid of turning failure to lessons, and doing things anyways to elevate your life and stay true to yourself in the process while practicing being the best version of yourself. I continue to utilize the lessons learned from this curriculum and pass on the Fearless Focus message, not because I spent so much time with and became so fond of Maria and the FF students, but because the message truly holds deep meaning in my every day life to this day.
