I am humbled and honored to share some exciting news with our Fearless Focus community: I have been selected as the recipient of the Franciscan Leadership Award 2025 by one of the most meaningful nonprofit organizations in our lives—Cardinal Cushing Centers.
This prestigious award is presented annually to an individual who leads by positive example and strengthens the community. It will be awarded at Cardinal Cushing’s Springtime Gala on May 22nd at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. I am deeply grateful to be recognized in this way, especially by a cause so close to my heart.
Receiving the Franciscan Leadership Award 2025: A Full-Circle Moment for Fearless Focus
Since 2011, Fearless Focus has proudly volunteered at the Springtime Gala, helping Cushing students and adults with intellectual disabilities prepare for their joyful and inspiring fashion show. Every year, our students look forward to cheering them on, offering support, and learning from their courage, creativity, and warmth.
This year’s event is especially emotional for me because it represents a full-circle moment. What started as a volunteer opportunity has become a meaningful partnership that continues to grow. Being honored with the Franciscan Leadership Award 2025 not only reflects my journey—it reflects the spirit and service of the entire Fearless Focus community.
Empowering All Abilities, Together
The Franciscan Leadership Award 2025 means so much to me because of how our relationship has grown. Over the years, Fearless Focus has extended its involvement with Cardinal Cushing Centers beyond just one event. Together, we’ve:
- Volunteered at community celebrations and fundraisers
- Hosted empowerment workshops for Cushing students and adults
- Created shared experiences between Fearless Focus campers and Cushing community members
These interactions have built mutual respect, empathy, and confidence—values at the very core of everything we teach at Fearless Focus. Our students have learned just as much as they’ve given, and the joy from these partnerships is hard to put into words.
