“For months I saw the ads to Fearless Focus pop up on my news feed and kept thinking it would be a great fit for my daughter. My then 14-year-old was very shy. I wasn’t sure if she would even have any interest. “Hi! It’s Tenley! I recently participated in your Holiday Workshop, and I wanted to tell you about my experience. Your workshop is amazing. I was feeling depressed and wasn’t having a good Winter Break. My dad signed me up for this class. I was skeptical at first. What was it going to be like? I was scared about meeting new people and thought the instructors would be mean. When I arrived at Maria Wood Studios I was nervous, I didn’t get along with people well, what if they didn’t like me? I entered the studio seeing instructors and campers sitting around in a circle, all talking about themselves. They were all sharing, and I was surprised to know that quite a few of them were interested in musical Theatre like I was. We played icebreakers, and I was already beginning to have fun. The atmosphere was divine and delightful, and I was already changing my mind about Fearless Focus. We started by steaming our faces in preparations for our face masks. I have sensitive skin, and one of the counselors, Maddie, helped me figure out if the face mask would burn my skin. It didn’t. I was so relaxed with steam coming up on my face that I wanted to go to sleep. The counselor was very gentle and added a thin mask layer on my face. I started feeling relaxed and happy. I even made two new friends, Vera and her older sister Kendall. We started working out, doing Zoomba and Yoga. After lunch, we proceeded on our skincare routine. The counselors painted our nails and gave us a nail care kit and face kit on top of that. The counselors were so good at hair, and I got the most amazing makeover ever. I changed into my dress, and we were taught to strut down the runway, saying positive things about ourselves. By the end of the class, I felt like a confident young woman with more self-esteem than ever. This class is truly a life-changing experience for me, and I already want to go back to your tiny piece of paradise.“
